Update on Tariff Changes for Steel & Aluminum

On June 4th, the White House issued an Executive Order to increase tariffs under Section 232 for Steel & Aluminum to 50%. Additionally, all steel and aluminum articles subject to Section 232 duty may require a content and value breakout.

As stated in the guidance from U.S. Customs, new derivative articles outside of Chapters 73 and 76 subject to Section 232 duties, AND all steel and aluminum derivative articles classified within Chapters 73 and 76, the 50% duty is to be reported on the value of the steel or aluminum content only.
